I tested it with the cord and got very hot in a short time is completely submersible for cleaning. Upon further examination, I found no evidence of grease or scratches, so, yes, have to agree that it was never used. When I took it out of the box for pictures questioned whether actually wan't used as owner said because there are some marks on underside dome which look like steam marks, but then realized that hardware legs heating cord stored in and they probably made from bouncing around. Will package carefully for protection.
